March 10 Vesrah VD 131 Brake PadArghhhh I'm going bonkers looking for Vesrah Sintered Metal Brake Pad for my Naza Blade. Can't find that VD-131 JL model so far in Malaysia. Went to Welly Batu Caves this afternoon. They don't have the exact model, but the mechanic offered me another Vesrah sintered metal pad but it had to be cut and modified to fit in. Thought to myself, maybe its okay if I'm just gonna use it for normal riding, but I don't think I wanna risk using it for trackday. What if the thing broke while I'm braking hard from the front straight going to T1? Hmmm I guess I'll be smooching the barrier. Found it at Amazon.com, but after going through the whole buying process, the system apologizes because it cannot ship the damn thing to Malaysia. Sent an email to Vesrah Japan, hopefully they'll come back to me soon. I thought I saw in autoworld forum that one of the Bladers bought Carbone Lorraine. Wonder if its the correct part number. March 04 One Wedding and a Whole Lotta BikesToday I went to a wedding at Edy_954s house. The rest of the guys went up Awana earlier in the morning. Feel kinda disappointed that I couldn't go coz had some prior arrangement. Its been quite sometime since I've been up to Awana. So I made it a point to try and make it for the wedding. Arrived at the Tol Gombak RV point at around 11.15 am. Was shocked to find Zul Oren and Jai there. Jai's Blade 650 jammed on the way up to Awana. Thanx to Zul who helped him out bringing the bike down. Baim arrived shorly after that. Heard from him that ZulR1 had and accident this morning. By around 12 pm, everyone was down and we made our way to RnR Sg Buloh, through Jln Kuching, Duta and up to the highway. When we arrived at the RnR, ZulR1 was there. Good to know it was nothing serious. Then, we went to Caltex for the sponsored fuel up, thanx to Edy. Took some pictures and by 1 pm, we made a move to the rumah pengantin. Arrived at the house, and the bikers parked the bike, lining both side of the red carpet. Most of the bikers we're poofed. I understand. It was such a hot day, and wearing your riding gear under the searing heat must be like being cooked up in sauna. That's the reason why I just had t-shirt on. Shortly after that, the pangantin arrived with the kompang and all. Had lunch with the guys. The atmosphere was fun and jovial. By 2 pm, everybody started leaving. February 28 25th February 2007 Sepang TrackdayBeen a month since I the last track day. So was really looking forward to this trackday, especially can't wait to test my new Battlax BT020 tires. Again I arrived late, only managed to get on track 9.30 am. Lotsa bike. I heard more than 110. The not so good part about this, too many accidents. I don't recall being able to put together 4 laps without seeing the yellow or the red flag. Total 8 red flags and god knows how many yellow flags. With so many bikes on the track, I can't really focus. Had a couple of close call too. With my previous accidents, I was feeling kinda phobia. So I didn't manage to push myself that hard. I think I only scrap my knee once throughout the whole session, a far cry from scrapping my knees a couple of times in one lap, for every lap like I've done before. Not until the last lap, did I really manage to push hard, and surprise it was my best lap to date coz the line was not that good. I think coz the new tires hold old better, plus the smaller tires behind makes my bike accelerate faster. After seeing one of my fren picture using BT020 on his ZXR-14, I think I have more confidence to push harder during the next trackday. February 16 New TiresFinally my bike got a new set of rubbers. After one month waiting, I got the Bridgestone Battlax BT020 fitted today. 120/60-17 front and 160/60-17 rear. Hopefully the new rubbers can perform better than my previous Shinko stock rubbers on track. Felt kinda funny with this wider tires. The bike seem to turn in faster. The not so good thing is now my bike height became lower (coz of the smaller tire diameter). I guess I have to send back the bike to SBM and get the rear jacked-up again. January 29 Sepang 21st Jan 2007 Track DayFirst time out after mods on my suspension (fork bracket front and dog-bone rear). Had to get accustom to the new feeling as the rear is higher by 1.5 inches. With the steeper front fork, the bike turns faster but less stability on straight line. This is my onboard video of the fastest lap. Just fractionally slower than my fastest lap to date (set during 30th Dec 2006 trackday), but I'm happy anyway considering the bike new setup and after 2 consecutive crashes on the 23rd and 30th Dec. Furthermore I think this is the best line I did so far, especially keeping close to Turn 2 and Turn 9 which I had problems before. I think I'll stick to this line and just try to take it faster next time. January 10 My Rear Brake PadMy rear brake pad is almost down to last bit. Hmmmm those pads sure didn't last long. 2 sets already just under 7500 km usage. I better get it change before 23rd Jan Sepang trackday. January 07 My First Time on This Live Space ThingyUhhhh first time using this space thingy. Well, its a convenient way for me to post pics for my friends to see. Don't know what else to write. I am definitely not born to be a blogger. |
